Serious iTunes money problem (I need help now)?

Serious iTunes money problem (I need help now)?
Serious iTunes money problem (I need help now)? About 2 1/2 weeks ago i bought a AE prepaid gift card and i have spent all but $1.62 on the card. I know this by keeping track of what i bought and also what the website says on the cards balance. I have the card connected to iTunes but i bought a real iTunes cards because i didn't have anything worthy on the AM gift card to keep it connected, but today i went to iTunes to buy something without changing to the iTunes card (that means it's still on the AE card) and it worked. This is really making me afraid, where is this money coming from? I didn't forget that i put the iTunes card number in becase i just unscratched it. i just spent 10 dollars that i don't legally have and i don't know where it's coming from. my iTunes account says it's still on the AE card but the AE account balance is still on $1.62. WHAT IS THIS? I just switched it to the iTunes giftcard so can they take the money i owe off of it instead of suspending or taking what i bought off of my account?

Whoever gave you that idea didn't know what they were talking about. You cannot create an installation disc from the folders on your computer; it doesn't work that way.
2 :
Mercuri is right. You'll need the original installer. Installing software is more complex than simply copying a bunch of files. Try sites like filehippo and see if you can find the After Effects CS4 trial. Download that. You can use your existing key to unlock it.

American Eagle (AE) return policy?

American Eagle (AE) return policy?
I bought two Favorite T-Shirts on a Buy One, Get One Half Off deal in June. I don't like the color of one of them; it's pale pink and I want a deeper pink. The tags are still on the t-shirt, it's never been worn, and I still have the receipt. I know AE doesn't have a time limit on returning products, so I can still get my money back. They have more Favorite T-Shirts for the same price (slightly different style, though - the style I have is now gone) and I'd just like to swap for color. However, I bought it on a Buy One, Half Off sale, and that sale has ended. They'd probably just give me the half back and make me pay the other half for the new t-shirt. If I take the t-shirt I want to exchange in, with the tags on it, and say it was a gift and I don't have the receipt, will they just exchange it for a new one?

Probably not =[
2 :
As soon as you're one foot out the door, it's unreturnable.
3 :
I think if your just exchanging the shirt it wont matter.
4 :
No, most likely they wouldn't because there's a new style now, and if the old one is still in the store it's most likely on sale. They'll probably give you the current value of the old one without a receipt, which I'm guessing will be less than t he new one.
5 :
No they wont make you pay i use to work in retail and if its the same shirt just a different color you dont have to pay the difference. If you try to exchange it without a reciept they will give you the lowest price it was sold at in the last couple months so you might get less than what you spent on it if you say you have no reciept. But american eagle you can return whenever, the reciept says if your not happy you can return it they have to exchange it for you especially if you still have the tags and reciept.
6 :
They should, I dont think its a problem

Established unquestioned concepts are the real reason for disappointment and stress?

Established unquestioned concepts are the real reason for disappointment and stress?
In our society every body is carrying a lot of common concepts with them, these are forming ones word view and ones self image. From there are coming our wishes and goals. From there we built up our security and our self esteem. From there we are motivated and that give us our feeling of existence. This is our *Personality*, that we feel we are. We strive to make this personality bigger, stronger, richer and blow it up as much we can... We are identified with our properties that we have gained and collected: Knowledge, experiences, memories, things, money, family, partners, children, friends, enemies, followers, fans and every thing else that might reflect us. We are constantly looking for confirmation for our properties so that our feeling of existence stay alive. We are reacting all the time and to what ever shows up and so we can agree or disagree, feeling good or being angry and as we are also identified with our reactions, this might be feelings or thoughts, so we are confirmed in our personality. But is this *Personality* something real? Or is it just an illusion we have created ourselves, with the help of this society in that we have grown into and that keeps us busy? Are we living in a fake reality? Are the concepts we are holding the reason why we are not able to relate directly to what is there only through the filter of our concepts that dominate our view? And because our concepts are coming often from people who created them for their own purpose to gain power to strengthen their position, so these are also part of our fake reality? We are not questioning our self because that brings us into an insecure position? Do we all defend that what we believe we are: A self constructed and contained illusion? Is this the real reason why we have so much stress going through life? Because reality doesn't fit always to our concepts how things should be? And then we are disappointed and frustrated, right? Then we are getting out of balance with our self feeling and we are taking or doing things to find back our balance, often damaging our health with these substitutes... We ae not capable to relate objective to what shows up in daily life, we are expecting a certain way that things are and that people behave. Does it work? We are doing our best to change things and people and we are very good to manipulate conditions and people. Does it work? Sometimes yes and sometimes no, mostly not and that causes disappointment and stress, right? So what can we do about it? Can we change the world? Obviously not. What about changing ourselves? That seems to be the solution. About this during the last twenty years there have been developed some new concepts published by best seller writers. These new concepts are so sophisticated that they fulfill the need of any one who has doubts and so one can live these new concepts and can keep oneself busy for the rest of ones life. Right? S@: Your answer is an example how people stuck in their concepts defend themselves, often attacking what might have a changing influence. They don't look nearer and they have no question. Holding tight on their strait jacket. But also looking for occasions to provoke... Void@: Investigating 'meaning' at least is a start, but unfortunately those philosophers and investigators are bound to their human nature and so turn around themselves, finding satisfaction in their work, that mainly is limited to their intellectual capacities, adding to the knowledge pool of concepts. Feeding other minds of personalities. There seems no way out! Who wants to get out? Is there really some body? Rahmona@: My answer to your question is: NO, I don't want to offer a new concept that people can add to their already existing ones. That's why I don't like to talk about it, only when I'm asked and the question seems to be serious. Indeed I have a *working concept* that serves to get out of the illusion of personality and that's what we are living here in a group set up, at least I live it. Most people just want to be confirmed in their established worldview and in their self image and they resist to any thing that does not support their wishes. You ask me from where I got my knowledge. For sure I haven't picked it up by reading books, that would be the easy way. I did it the hard way by living my ideas and bringing them down to the earthen ground. This I have done for more than thirty years and many people have passed this place. First I had called it 'Intentional Community' but then changed it into: 'Group of Friends' because people with the expectation to be confirmed... ...in their beautiful concepts about joy, harmony, peace and love, when living here in a community they were disappointed and always where looking for the fault of this at the outside and then left... In this thirty years I have learned a lot about human nature and practising meditation for more than fifty years I have developed enough intuition to find out about the conditions of personality and also how to overcome these and to go beyond it. Several times in all those years I came to the point to give up, because people are not really interested to grow, nearly without exception they want to strengthen their personality and to live their established concepts. Living together with such people is not creative because they are using others and they don't want to change themselves. People not even ask questions when living with others who live in a different way. Now again I'm at the point to give up, but I'm still trying to find different people, that's why I'm posting here... And you?? destaem nomoa@: You wrote: "Total acceptance that things are as they are and what happens is meant to happen frees us to experience the love and joy that we are without the conditions." That sounds convincing, but isn't this just an other concept one can add to the already more sophisticated spiritual ones, difficult to realize? The 'acceptance' alone doesn't free us and we are not free from our conditions just by accepting the concept of 'acceptance'. We need to free ourselves from our established conditioning, then we will, even without the concept of 'acceptance' be able to accept outside conditions as part of the reality. destaem: "In truth we are already free we were never born and can never die..." BeiYin: In truth we are not free, we are totally bound to our perception & limited to our senses. We depend totally on our established concepts and are not free because of this to relate and respond to reality, not in general and not in daily details. We are here because we have been born and we all will die. destaem: " Words can only point and thoughts and concepts can never be accepted or rejected." BeiYin: Words are expressing, provoke, seeking confirmation of ones own position. Thoughts and concepts are always accepted or rejected, fitting into ones established concepts - or not. In both cases confirming the personality, - in a negative or positive way, keeping oneself busy & giving the feeling of existence. destaem: " We are being breathed $ we are being lived. There is nothing to do & nothing to figure out everything is perfect as it is." BeiYin: We are breathing & living. We do & ask to become One! Destaem: "Where does the "I" who claims ownership of all of this arise? Something witnesses even this and so is even more subtle." If this is coming out of your realization then it is valid for you, although it could be part of your sophisticated concept and you survive with it into such a high sphere that you will not want to come down to the earthen floor to realize it. Typical for the most 'spiritual' concepts. Rahmona@: It rarely happens some one is asking this question: How can I overcome my 'personality'? That's not the actual state of evolution of human kind. The key: As the personality mainly exist out of identification with concepts & all other properties that are gathered, and it's not possible just to drop ones concepts, so there is an easy & non violent way for this: As we know, we relate to what shows up in our daily life from the background of our established concepts. We are looking for confirmation and fulfilment of ourselves through our concepts and this we find when the daily reality fits to it or we are disappointed when it doesn't. We are reacting all the time depending totally on our surrounding. So, we don't need to do anything else than to be aware of our reactions when we encounter situations and as the most important: all the people with their own concepts and self image. We just observe our reactions: Our thoughts, feelings and actions. Without judging, just observing. Only observing ones reactions might not be easy because one is identified with them and mostly only can look at them later. This is a learning process and meditation can help very much with it. You can watch my video at YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rAKMLHjFxQ To meditate has nothing to do with religion, it is simply a way to learn to be more aware and that is the most essential to go beyond our personality! This is a growing and healing process that includes your whole being. It has to do with 'transformation', that means you are not loosing any thing... You don't need to touch your beliefs, only when these show up in your reactions, then you can look at them and decide if they are still valid or you want to drop them in exchange for something real...

Finally, they investigate how language and meaning relate to truth and the world. Philosophers tend to be less concerned with which sentences are actually true, and more with what kinds of meanings can be true or false. A truth-oriented philosopher of language might wonder whether or not a meaningless sentence can be true or false, or whether or not sentences can express propositions about things that do not exist, rather than the way sentences are used.
3 :
You are asking your question in a way that tells that you have the answer. From where you get the answer? You seem to be so secure of it! Is this another 'concept' you want to offer? Indeed there are too many of these ruling this world... Edit: Alright! I agree with you that our 'personality' is a cage in which we are trapped and the dilemma is that we don't want to get out of this cage, like an animal that has been living most of its life in a cage, even if the door is open, it will not take the opportunity to get out. So people cling at their limited personality, even when they are suffering. They defend themselves with all means and that is mainly their established concepts as their property. Personality exist mainly because of ones identification with ones mentally and emotionally property. Now my question: How can I get out of this what at this moment "I AM", my personality? And that's all what I have. I have only my beliefs that I am something more and this is also a concept! Shall I drop also all of my beliefs? Then what is left?

If you have good quality clothes in good condition, have you considered offering them to a consignment shop? You won't sell them all at once that way, but you'll make a lot more money than you would at a yard sale. Check the local "used clothing" stores in your area. Visit them and see if they are selling the kind of clothes you want to sell, and if so ask the owner how to go about it.
2 :
The people buying at a yard sale won't care about the name on the clothing. They're just looking to get things cheap. Start off at what you think is fair. If you find it's not working, you can always lower the price as the day goes on.

I have been paying on a debt to American Express (charge off)?

I have been paying on a debt to American Express (charge off)?
I have been paying $100.00 dollars a month or more directly to them online. Allied Interstate contacted me and said they had the debt since 2006. Said I should be making payments to them. I stated I have heard nothing from you and have been making direct payments to AE. They said they contacted me back in Nov 2006. I said yes you did, and I paid the amount you asked for and since have been paying directly to AE with the balance going down monthly. They said you should have been paying us. I then said then why is AE excepting money from me. They said because they can not turn it down, but now you must pay us. What should I do. It seems to me that AE would have locked me out from paying them if Allied had the account. But AE accepted a payment from me today. What do you think I should do?

Keep paying AE and simply ignore Allied. Let AE settle with Allied since it was the original debtor.
2 :
i would get the stories straight..then look through the documents and payments and anything that you received from American Express and Allied..if Allied calls you again you can back up your payment with exact dates, payments, etc vs.just confirming that you made the payment..keep on paying the American Express bill and get to zero on your balance.if this gets out of hand and you have to pay two co.'s payments you need to take drastic measures!just go on with your routine of payments..hope that helped
3 :
I would check into getting a 1 time settlement negotiated with Allied.

I really don't regard average mall clothing as extremely fashionable, but I am probably older than you. People often comment that I look like I stepped off the page of Vogue. Look in fashion magazines, especially French Fashion magazines and recreate the outfits using less expensive clothing, thrift stores, forever21, than bring the picture to a makeup counter in the mall and let them put the make-up on you.(MAC is very good for this) Another good place for outfit ideas is Sex & The City "Carrie Bradshaw" which by the way Sarah Jessic Parker has a new clothing line "bitten" all for $20 or less, don't know where to buy it, look it up online. One last thing, if your going to spend $$$, always go for the shoes, good quality shoes last forever.

I heard Madonna started designing a line of clothes for H&M....& I think H&M is pretty cheap. Oh, also try ebay. Ebay is known to have knock off designer outfits & they're usually under $100.

Why do people always make fun of the way I dress?

Why do people always make fun of the way I dress?
Alright, i really don't like Abercrombie, Hollister, AE, Aeropostal, or any of those stores. I really like to wear huge brand names to school. Like, Ed Hardy tees, True relgion jeans, Ksubi jeans, D & G blouses, Lanvin flats, Missoni scarves, Pucci outfits, really high class stuff. The thing is, I always get all of it on MAJOR sale, like, 80% off... so I wind up spending about Abercrombie and Fitch price on it, some at like, Target price....(i love going out of buisness sales....) Everyone always seems to be like "OMG, what is up with your clothes?" "Why can't you be normal?" "What is your problem?" I mean, I come from an average family (money wise) and am really shy and sweet, i just try to be fashion foward.. Are people jelous, or what? I am seriously not trying to sound stuck-up or show off, i just want to know how YOU would respond to someone like this....? Lol. For those who were wondering, my favorite little store, Alex & Izzy, went out of business and I got a ton of stuff there, like an $825 Jill Stuart dress for $45! I guess hitting all the clearence racks at outlet malls helps... :)

its because all girls that where those clothes are basically clones being different is good i where hippyish styeld cloths cuz i like to be different just embrace our style and soon people will love it
2 :
they are just jealous of you. they try to bring you down because they want to feel like they look better than you. well i think
3 :
wats wrong with u!!!!! u dont have any style do u?
4 :
theres 2 kinds of fashion right now. Street fashion (like A&F, Hollister, AE etc) that most teens and even adults wear. its chic in the eyes of a teen. then theres Couture, which is clothes you wear. D&G, Pucci, Chloe, designers like that. Its different sort of fashion but its all fashion in one way or another. maybe they are jealous, or arent "into" that sort of fashion, but if you like it, wear it! xxox
5 :
Maybe because you WEAR high class, people think you are trying to BE High class so they make comments. Also, for some reason, most people don't like people who don't wear ficth, postle, holl or AE clothes
6 :
well i guess since everyone wheres the four main stores: abercrombie, hollister, ae, and aeropostale, they don't really get the fashion of your style. I think its cool that your being different, and i'm really wondering: WHEN DO THESE SALES COME OUT? lol. I would love to buy those. thats really self-centered on what they are saying to you too. I would let you wear what you want, because its you, not me.
7 :
I dont understand why you care, if you're happy screw the rest.
8 :
Ignore 'em they're just jealous. You know the real truth and that's all that counts. If someone says that to you again say, "I bought these clothes from America, and last time I checked it IS a free country!!!"
9 :
So long as you're not flaunting your awesome wardrobe in their faces, don't worry about it. It's great that you know how to handle your money so well and can make it go far. They are just jealous of you. After all, they may be in the same financial situation as you, but not be as money-wise as you. Give those green-with-jealousy guys and girls a break. They'll mature soon and come running to you to find out where all the good sales are at! Until then, just ignore them and try really hard to shove it in their faces! Give them a few tips and then back off. Give them some space so you can both avoid their comments and get to more sales! Good luck!
10 :
Anyone that cares about how you dress is insecure with themselves. It is obvious that they have issues. I wouldn't worry about what other people think. From what it sounds, you have a better style than them anyway.
11 :
they may be jealous most likely are! or they dont like ur clothes and want u to shop at those stores like hollister and abercrombie
12 :
they are just jealous and upset u are not like everybody else and u have ur own style.
13 :
Theyre just jealous.. Cuz you got designer clothes and they don't. OMG! Where did you buy these clothes for 80% off??
14 :
Based on what you said you're wearing, I'd say that you should be the one making fun! Pucci? CLASSY! Abercrombie? Generic. The problem is not that you aren't fashionable, it's that you're young and everyone wants to "fit in" at this age. In about 3 years, everyone will be saying, man, that one girl had some style... while everyone else will look identical. I used to live in a small town, and felt the same way. I moved to a city (Los Angeles) as an adult and guess what? People understood what I was doing, and I realized that it wasn't that I was uncool - I was just misunderstood. Be yourself!

because they dont understand creative/ high fashion. They dont get the style of outfits that are on the runway. If you ask any regular person about a runway outfit, their response will be that it's ugly. But i think that's what fashion really is, being unique with your outfits. And those people who say that are just being rude, because you dont want to conform to dressing like everybody else. They're not use to someone breaking out of the typical, everyday wardrobe. But it's much better to be looked at, than looked over.
16 :
OMg i am totally with you! i dont really like any of those stores either ; abercrombie hollister ae aeropostal andso on... .everyone who wears those clothes are trying to be like everyone else! And thats good that you are being different , i mean really how many people od you know who are like that? ( i luv true religion too!) And wearing those brands that you do is cool , those people are just jelous that they cant be stylish too .
17 :
Personally, I don't like designer fashions on younger girls. If they are in their 20s then it is different, but if you like to dress like that then go right ahead.
18 :
most of the time people make fun of people b/c they are jealous. but dont get a big head and think that everyone is jealous of you. they dont understand that u would rather wear ecclectic pieces or more high end clothes rather then preppy s**t like all the other immature high school girls. most families are working class and dont have alot of money to buy designer clothes, they dont know you get it on sale, they just think u r some spoiled little rich b***h
19 :
It could be that they are jealous that you can get those types of clothes at the cheaper prices and they miss out on that. I think that it is wonderful that you can find the clothes you like at the prices that you can afford. Keep on doing your thang gurl and don't let them get to you! It is not your fault that they are not a great shopper like you are.
20 :
Listen, the people who make fun of you are just immature. they are probably jealous of the clothes you wear. you don't have to be like everyone else and wear hollister and A n F i don''t wear that and I'm in The 8th grade i wear named brand stuff like that to ex. Louis Vouiton, Gucci, Dolci & Gabanna etc. i come from a wealthy family but no one knows that. if they can't take you for who you are then screw them. they aren't worth your time AT ALL.
21 :
you dress better then the other people and they don't realise it. don't conform.
22 :
You know what, people will always find something to make fun of you for. Kids are just cruel. If you started dressing like everyone else they will find something else to hassel you about. Just blow them off. If YOU feel good about the way you look then thats all that matters. ♥
23 :
there probaly just jealous that they dont have those clothes and the wish the could have some of it you know how girls are so theres probaly nothin really wrong with your clothes
24 :
OMG! first of all don't let school define who you are. you seem like you have really cute clothes and good fashion sense. people are probably just jealous because they are too lame to dress as good as you. and you're not even trying to show it off which is even better. whatever you do don't change who you are to please the people around you be your own person and it;\'s their loss. oh by the way how do you good deals like you say you do?????? I'm really interested in where u shop lol.
25 :
I love those brands! God i hate those stores too, everyone wears those and i hate looking liek a clone its horrendously boring. Just keep going on with what you're wearing, unless you're wearing the strange stuff cause sometimes designers make weird stuff. Although its weird cause i wear those brands and everyone always tell me i look cute. Do you know how to combine and wear those clothes?
26 :
Well, around here, no one really wears that kind of stuff. Our society is a more Abercrombie, Hollister, AE, brand stuff. Then again, I'm only an 8th grader. Maybe your area is like ours. Others prefer high class stuff over prep stores. Y'know? They're totally different brand names and types! Don't be that fashion forward. Wear what you REALLY like! If this is what you really like, don't be afraid to go out of that circle. If you're still in school, you don't have to grow up that quickly. :) If you're outside of school... then it's probably just that your area prefers preppy brand names to the high class brand names.
27 :
HEY DO NOT FEEL BAD THEY MAKE FUN OF ME AND I AM SOME WHAT INTO SPANDEX WEARING SO YOU SHOULD JUST BE YOU AND NOT LET OTHERS GET TO YOU YOU ONLY HAVE ONE LIFE TO LIVE SO BE YOUR SELF OK HERE IS MY EMAIL IF YOU WANT TO WRITE ME kingofspandex@yahoo.com
28 :
ugh, its just that the rest of them are too brainwashed to dress in other things rather than abercrombieholisteraeropostale (BARF). originality is good. be proud of the way you dress!!!
29 :
listen my darling...don't care about people and what they likes because they will not content ever......if you like your style....and you are satisfied....let them go to they hell.....just be your self...feel confident.... hope you take my advice...good luck
30 :
people are cruel that's why they bug you don't pay them any attention that's the way you dress and they should like you for who you are not what they want you to be

I would start by buying a Bible
2 :
Make a third testament where Jesus toured Asia and Polynesia. It worked for the Mormons in America, and the Polynesians are desperate for something stupid to believe in
3 :
Do as the writers of the bible did... plagiarize it from ancient Egyptian sun worship!

Woe to those who distort the scripture (The Bible) with their own hands, then say, "This is what GOD has revealed," seeking a cheap material gain. Woe to them for such distortion, and woe to them for their illicit gains. Quran [2:79]

Will someone make me a good spring outfit on either polyvore or just provide links?

Will someone make me a good spring outfit on either polyvore or just provide links?
I'm soo bored with my wardrobe and I want to buy some new clothes for spring since I've been saving my money. Will someone make me an outfit? I like stores like Hollister Abercrombie AE aeropostale etc. They don't HAVE TO BE THE BRAND NAMES but styles similar to those stores. And nothing that will make me go completely broke I'm guessing I have about 40 dollars. Also, nothing slutty, i'm also completely flat-chested and really short and skinny. SOMETHING APPROPRIATE FOR SCHOOL no tank tops, flip flops or short skirts. thank youuu. i also like pacsun and delias. pacsun stuff would be good since i have a 40%off coupon. but i'm not the surfer type, i'm preppy.

Did i make the right choice concerning this job?

Did i make the right choice concerning this job?
i had a part time job, it was fast food. i like that it was flexible enough to have with my other job, and i liked making the extra money.however, they only gave me a couple of days a week, even tho i told them i could and wanted to work more. they hired someone else after me and gave them lots of hours, sometimes they would say they overshceduled and tell me not to come in which i didnt like since they would call last minute and it was too late to pick up a shift at my other job. .i wasnt being trained on what they told me they would train me on. and the environment was hostile. all the bosses would belittle the employees, and if the employees had a problem they would just watch them fight not even bother to calm things down. plus they would talk about coworkers badly to each other and other employees right there right in front of the person. which is rude and makes people uncomfortable. i treid to let it roll off my back, until one day i came in 7 minutes late, and my boss claimed he put me on a no call no show. i have never no call no showed and of course i was standing right in front of him, so even if he was mad that i was late he didnt have to still say no call no show. to me that is like saying i dont want you here, so i left after that, and called the district manager to say i didnt want it to be put down as a no call no show since i was there. he claimed it was just words, but i took that seriously because thats not a rational thing to do, it is petty and i dont know where its really coming from. the previous week i had worked one day and it was hard to make it through the shift i had thought about quitting, because of the completely ridculous and rude and mean behaior of the employees toward another employee. i decide to giv it another try and not quit so easily. anyway the distrcit manager asked if i wanted to still work there since they put time into training me. i said i wasnt sure and he said he would talk to my boss. then he called me to tell me that me the district manager and my boss should all have a meeting. i feel that is too much for a fast food job that was only giving me a few days a week, and i didnt feel it would be productive, i felt it would be a way to pass blame. plus now that i have gone over my bosses head it will not be a better situation for me. my bosses ae not professional, and they surely would not be happy with me for calling their boss on them. prior to the incident,i was planning to have sit down with my boss directly to talk about getting more hours or training, but we did ot get to that point. i told the district manager i did not wantt to work there anymore. i did want to work there but not under those circumstances, what do you think? did i leave too easily, or was it not worth the time to go through all of that?

you probably did the right thing....for some reason your boss there did not like you...hence the lower hours and hassle. You should be honest with yourself and analyze why it was so...(and he is a jerk is not the answer). Use this as life experience. In future though you should leave on decent terms even though you were jerked around because you need them as a reference...I'd phone the district manager and ask if you can use him as a reference when you go after another job...he may say yes...then thank him. on a final note...if you are applying for another job and they want references...it is good to phone him and jog his memory saying that this new job sounds great and you appreciated what you learned while working for him...this will make sure he will member you if they call.

Does anyone still have interest in traditional film photos?

Does anyone still have interest in traditional film photos?
It's been a hobby of mine for a while now to shoot black-and-white 35mm on a totally old-school Canon AE-1 SLR camera. I really enjoy the sort of manual feel to everything and it makes me feel like I have more control over what I'm shooting and how I want it to look. I know that digital cameras already have controllable variables like f-stops and shutter speeds and such, but I just like working with manual cameras. Recently I bumped into a few critics at my university who asked to see some of my prints and seemed to really like them. So my question is, do people still care about black-and-white shots? And if they do, is there a way for me to make a little money on the side by doing what I love? How?

Actually in the art field there are very few digital prints that draw much interest. All the prints you see hanging in galleries are photographic prints and all have been processed archivally and are mounted following archival methodology. There should be an annual judged art show open to the teaching staff, staff and students. That is one way to get some recognition and have the opportunity to sell your work
2 :
Absolutely! Film still rules. Some photo galleries still show black-and-white print collections. If a print is well done, people will pay for it, no matter if it was digital or "silver." Just think of the work of Mary Ellen Mark, Ansel Adams, Weston and so many others who have done their best work (or all their work) in black and white. I take some digital shots but I still take more (and better) shots with my film camera. Since I have been shooting for a long time, I have a number of very good lenses and camera bodies. To replace what I have with digital will cost a small fortune. So keep working on your portfolio and your printing skills. Obviously you are on the right track. What matters is the result, not the technology.

do you agree?? a&f, hollister, ae

do you agree?? a&f, hollister, ae
do you agree with this statement hollister is own by the same owner as abercrombie so that is why there clothes are the same if you go to abercrombie to buy a scarf it is like 80 bucks but in hollister it is like 30 -40 bucks for the same one different logo and hollister is a cheaper quality and the clothes are meant to last for the trend not really a life time so you continue to buy more of the clothes without realizing the quality but more of the trend and american eagle has plains so you can dress them up some people just wear the tshirt thinking it is stylish for like back to school screaming the words hollister, a&f, and american eagle thinking they are dressed up and the clothes are target for teenagers trying to fit in but most kids who dont have money go to thirf stores and find the brands trying to or pretending to have money making it harder or get things passed one down from there older siblings also the target is teenagers trying to fit in and society has made it a material world so if you come a not so wealthy family the pressure is one and you have to go to thrif shops or shop clearances to fit in with the name if you go back to school people think your all dressed up with you are wearing a shirt that screams hollister or ae or a&f people get brainwashed buy it

First of all i only read the beginning but i don't think it's the same owner they just have the same ideas and copy some off of each other. i do agree people get brainwashed by it. I think it looks quite tacky when you wear all of one brand or when every body and their mom has your shirt and it's sooo obvious. That's just me.
8 :
Yea, theyre pretty much the exact same thing minus the logos, and pricing, even the website layouts are the same!

Yeah, I agree. Thanks for voting for my outfit.

Quotes on greedy money people?

Quotes on greedy money people?
what ae some quotes to prove that money doesnt get you know where in life and doesnt make you happy .

You can not prove money doesn't give happiness from quotes you need statistical data.
2 :
How about one of the oldest: "It's more likely that a camel would fit through the eye of a needle than that a rich man to go to heaven."
3 :
"Money is the root of all evil."
4 :
My favorite has always been "You can't take it with you." They made a whole movie about it by the same title. I was actually in a play version of it in high school in the role of Mr. Dipina. If you don't mind old black&white flicks I highly recomend trying to find it and watch it. Jimmy Stewart and John Barrymore are in it. They also starred together in "It's a Wonderful Life" as George Bailey and Mr. Potter.
5 :
"Happiness comes from spiritual wealth, not material wealth... Happiness comes from giving, not getting. If we try hard to bring happiness to others, we cannot stop it from coming to us also. To get joy, we must give it, and to keep joy, we must scatter it." ~ John Templeton “Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's need, but not every man's greed.” Mahatma Gandhi “A greedy father has thieves for children” Serbian Proverb “He who is greedy is always in want.” Horace “Avarice is always poor” Samuel Johnson "Success has nothing to do with what you gain in life or accomplish for yourself. It's what you do for others." ~ Danny Thomas "We tend to forget that happiness doesn`t come as a result of getting something we don`t have, but rather of recognizing and appreciating what we do have." Frederick Keonig “Infinitely more important than sharing one's material wealth is sharing the wealth of ourselves -- our time and energy, our passion and commitment, and, above all, our love.” William E. Simon "The more I study the wealthy.. in an effort to learn how to help more people around the world become one of them.. I’m stunned by how many people are actually not rich." David Bach "No one can earn a million dollars honestly." William Jennings Bryan "A rich man is nothing but a poor man with money." W. C. Fields "He that is of the opinion money will do everything may well be suspected of doing everything for money." Benjamin Franklin "Riches may enable us to confer favours, but to confer them with propriety and grace requires something that riches cannot give." Charles Caleb Colton "It is pretty hard to tell what does bring happiness; poverty and wealth have both failed." Kin Hubbard "The pursuit of money is in some ways a very shallow thing and it won't bring happiness unless your mind is prepared to use that money in ways that expand it and satisfy it. So, to me an interest in science and literature and the arts, is all part of just being a full human being, and of course you've got to make some money as well, but our education system it seems to me, should be producing fully rounded human beings who can say, 'I've lead a really satisfying life. I've had all the tools I need to be able to lead a great life,' rather than just, 'I made some money.' " Tim Flannery

would you know how to make cash fast?

would you know how to make cash fast?
I'm sort of in trouble. You see, I have dreams of becoming an actress, presently i live in Canada, and don't like it. I left College after a year and a half in th professional theatre program to move to New York where I got accepted to The New York Film Academy. unfortunately I couldn't make up the money, so technically im not going anymore. Chances ae I maybe moving to Florida with m sister and just go to college there and and get a Bachelor's in Fine Arts. My problem is that right now I am really broke. I would like to leave here as soon as possible (like the 15th of January) but I don't want her to end up paying all for me. So im looking to see if there are things I can do here before I leave to get some money and then move there and work full-time. Would any of you have ideas to help me?

American Eagle?(store not airline)?

American Eagle?(store not airline)?
Who agrees that AE makes more money then abercrombie and hollister because the people who cant fit into abercrombie and hollister (like myself) shop at AE so AE gets more moneyy?!?! is that why Abercrombie's clothes are so expensive??
Fashion & Accessories - 7 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
not really... some people say oh american eagle is affordable but actually i think some of their stuff is more overpriced than abercrombie.
2 :
that's a good idea.
3 :
Absolutely agree. The abercrombie company is made up of a bunch rich ass bitches with a stick up their ass. They wanna make their stuff seem high fashion when in fact their clothes are crappy and have a repeating , never changing style and collections.
4 :
No. Abercrombies clothes are just cuter. Dont get me wrong, I shop at AE too but I have to say I like hollister and a and fs clothes a lot more
5 :
Hey, you have a point there. I did notice that American Eagle's sizes are a bit bigger than abercrombie and Hollister's. I can't fit into their cute jeans!!! Darn! Also, AE has more sales/clearances. Don't forget the All-Access Pass! People want to get more points, so, they shop more. I have one, and it really motivates me...somehow, I still like A&F and HCO more...and PINK by Victoria's Secret! I'm obsessed with it. I guess I'm just another one of those preppy girls. Oh well. Bye and I hope this helps you!
6 :
I think AE maybe does make more money than Abercrombie because more people do shop at AE. Abercrombie's cloth are really cute but not worth the price. I can actually but a genuine designer such as Ralph Lauren with the 39.99 for a polo shirt in Abercrombie. If you can afford it, great. If you think it's really just not worth it then just don't shop there. Personally , I think their high price is not a result of the lack of people shopping there rather than the people that they direct their products at. They aim their market at the affulents and the Laguna-Beach-like people.
7 :
From CEO of Abercrombie "It's almost everything. That's why we hire good-looking people in our stores. Because good-looking people attract other good-looking people, and we want to market to cool, good-looking people. We don't market to anyone other than that." As far as Jeffries is concerned, America's unattractive, overweight or otherwise undesirable teens can shop elsewhere. "In every school there are the cool and popular kids, and then there are the not-so-cool kids," he says. "Candidly, we go after the cool kids. We go after the attractive all-American kid with a great attitude and a lot of friends. A lot of people don't belong [in our clothes], and they can't belong. Are we exclusionary? Absolutely. Thats why.

How do I save up my money?

How do I save up my money?
I'm 12 years old and going into 7th grade this year. My mom is only giving me $200, my grandma is giving me $100, and I'm getting another $200 for my birthday. I want to save up all my money for school. Since I shop at Hollister, AE, Abercrombie, etc, $500 isn't that much. My grandmother is watching me and my sister, 4 days a week every day this summer. She told me if I don't fight with her, she'll give me $1 each day. I'm pretty sure this will add up. I'm also getting $50 for getting straight A's on my report card. I want to save up my money to about $700 for school. Any ideas on how to save & make money??

2 :
I'm the exact same age as you and shop in the same places so I know how it feels to be pressured by money. A way that I've been saving my money is by putting all of my loose change into a jar. At first it doesn't seem like that much, but believe me it adds up. Hope I helped and have fun Shopping ♥
3 :
It is great you want to save money, but why do you want to pay too much for clothes? Just because they have a "name" does not make them any better - they just advertise more and you are paying for that. If you go to Goodwill and Salvation Army stores, you can find these name brands for $4.50 for jeans and shirts!

Do you think AE, hollister, and abercrombie are expensive?

Do you think AE, hollister, and abercrombie are expensive?
i find them a little on the expensive side. why would you want to pay $40 for a shirt!? i can't really afford that [im 13, and i hate taking money from people, so i usually have some kind of job to make money.] i'm a bargain hunter, haha. What are your thoughts on their prices?

sometimes you can find good deals in the clearance area of hollister or american eagle, but abercrombie is reallly over priced
2 :
i mean they r kinda of expensive but i mean they r made out of good quaility material but i usely only by the things that r on sale at those stores
3 :
yeah, i do think that they over price it. but if you do find good deal sometimes and when you do, the material is really nice.
4 :
omg i like love ae, abercrombie and hollister. I'm 13 too. how come your parents dont pay for it. i dont thik its expensive at all. sometimes i have to pay for my own clothes s i just babysit or w/e... they also have some good sales at time. i love those stores.
5 :
Yes, they are pricey. There is nothing wrong w/being a frugal shopper. I always hit the sale & clearance racks first.
6 :
I find them a little expensive too but I only shop at Hollister and sometimes at AE, Abercrombie stuff is way too expensive so I dont shop there, their clothes are almost the same anyway!.
7 :
abercrombie way overpriced ae ok priced some stuff there is overpriced hollister too expensive but u can find really cheap stuff in they're clearence
8 :
ah honestly i don'tt think they are expensive.but i do agree that forty dollars for a shirt is a bit redic. hollister and american eagle are fairly cheep for the good quality. i love their clothes.i only buy jackets, sweaters, and jeans at abercrombie and fitch. it all depends on what you buy. and all three normally have nice sales:)
9 :
way too expensive i cant afford to blow 300 dollars on a sweatshirt, a pair of jeans, and 2 shirts i never shop there and i hate those stores so muchh
10 :
yes if you don't get things on sale, they are very expensive for a 13 year old (im 13, too) but i have found some really good sales at ae and hollister. i got a shirt for 6.50 at ae!!! its really cute, too! and i found some tshirts and sweaters for $10.00!
11 :
finally a normal 13 yr old girl. Your so right. It IS expensive but buying a piece fro,m there everynow and ten and weaving it into ur wadrobe is how u make it seem like its something u wud wer al th ttime like ur too good for it almost pairing it w/ stylish tops and jeans.<3
12 :
Hey. I DO think those stores are overpriced! Finally someone agrees with me! :) Anyways, I LOVE Aerpostale, but I usually only shop on clearance. They have tons of cute stuff in Aeropostale on the clearance racks!
13 :
well i love saving money at expensive stores to but it matters what you buy i think there tshirts, most of there knits, khaki's and sweaters are pretty good when it comes to price but i can't believe there jeans! 50$ for a pair of plain jeans! i only get mine from ae because there so much cheaper, hollister and a&f totes are way to expensive and lastly the hoodies at hco and a&f are ridiculous 50$ for a plain hoodie? hoc-- jeans, totes and hoodies are way overpriced abercrombie-- hoodies, jeans, totes, some jackets and some knits are way over priced ae-- perfect most of there things are good and totally worth the cash there usually 10$ cheaper and there quality (exspecally in hoodies and jeans) are way better!
14 :
Same here, I think its overpriced...and the style is not that great. It's all the same thing. i'd rather pay $5-15 for a top I know I look amazing in rather than $40 for something I look horrible in and look like a robot
15 :
abercrombie is by far the most expensive. and the clothes are cheaply made with poor fabric so they wont last. hollister is expensive, but their clothes arent made with cheap fabric and the same with ae.
16 :
Abercombie is the most expensive, i never shop there. Hollister is less expensive and has some good deals sometimes, but you need to look for it. AE is the cheapest out of all of them and they usually have good sales. Like just this past week they had a buy one top get one 50% off. Stuff like that really drops the price. So i would say go to hollister and AE but stay away from abercombie, because it is severley over priced.
17 :
i think that they are lil bit over! I get the stuff on sale and that was like a short and a t shirt lol! If they had their shirts for like 15-30 dollars i would get a bit more! Answer mine! http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AlAWiAAYfbyKgHqGlX4dILgazKIX;_ylv=3?qid=20080928082939AAgHytq
18 :
yes they really are everytime that i go to AE hollister and abercombie i always go to the clearance lol because if you dont get the stuff on cleareance it is a ridicous amout i am the same as you actually i dont like spending 40$$ on a top i mean you only wear it for like a couples months or a year you can get some really cheap things at like gargage stiches etc...... or even AE hollister and abercobie on there sale racks.
19 :
Yes! I totally agree! I mean, their stuff is cute usually but it is way overpriced. The shirts at Hollister are so thin and their flip-flops are poorly made. Pretty bad if you ask me... $40 for a flimsy shirt that is just advertising the store you got it from...?!
20 :
heck yes!
21 :
They aren't expensive at all! I bought 9 tee shirts and 1 pair of jeans, all for just $160. Granted, it was in the clearance section, but still, it's not like anyone cares.

Here's my quote. "Violence is the supreme authority from with all other authority is derived" Anyone who LOVES peace and can't stand war, try reading the original Starship Troopers. Great treatise on the importance of war.

something about peace?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

“The world is a dangerous place. Not because of the people who are evil; but because of the people who don't do anything about it.” Albert Einstein ...alternatively, protest all the time and everywhere with a simple, home-made, white fabric armband. This symbol is worn to show that the wearer agrees "I want an end to the war in Iraq". The Arms Against War campaign is uniting all individuals and peace/anti-war groups in order to show just how many object. I wish you success and visibility :) Namaste, Tina Louise

why does holister/AE/Aeropostale make clothes so small.....??

why does holister/AE/Aeropostale make clothes so small.....??
i mean like 80% of kids and teens are obeese the idea is dumb really.....to me its discriminating...if they made bigger clothes they would get more money.....so why dont they do this?

I think they do this for the specific reason that they only want model skinny types in their clothing. They are kind of discriminating while at the same time marketing the brand only to slim teens. I think they just dont want to make their clothes bigger because they dont want big kids in their clothes. They are targeting a different segment of the market the skinny kids.
2 :
It's because they're big companies... promoting eating disorders. They get more money from skinny kids who buy all their stuff.
3 :
because they want tiny anerexic people wearing their clothes to make them look better i mean i wear them but im like a medium idk who wear the xxs
4 :
well, because they are clothes for little teens. and obeese people need to lose weight to be little teenss....
5 :
its the style. kids today want to be skinny. so clothes shops make clothes to fit them. i am of average size. good weight for my size. and usually i'd fit into a small or medium tshirt..in these places i have to get an xlarge just to have a comfy fit. it only perpetuates the idea that girls have to be super skinny. most of the jeans i cant fit into, because they are for really tall skrawny girls with no butts. slim they say.
6 :
I have no idea. I have many times wondered the same thing. This is why we have some teen girls (and boys) starving themselves just to fit into the "cool clothes".
7 :
they think only skiny ppl should wear their clothes. they think that bigger ppl will disgrace their clothes. their models are So skiny so they think their customers should be too. its so discrimiating. im not small and skinny so i cant fit into the clothes i like from them. (plus theyre too expensive.) so stick up for the non-skinny ppl and dont buy their clothes. peace.
8 :
they have tiny clothes becuase they are targeting rich kids who have the money to go to the gym and look good. and for small people like that they dont have many places to go to get clothes because most other places dont have thier size. you may think these stores are discriminating against bigger people but small people feel all the other store discriminate against them.
9 :
Wow this makes me feel better!!My mom bought a pair of jeans from there a size 1 skinny and i couldnt figure out why there were tight.I guess there clothes runs juniors sizes.Cause i normally wear a size 1 at most stores but now i get it.
10 :
cause of the models that wear their clothes
11 :
they make them small so people will want to fit in the clothes, and not gain more weight, its an incentive to lose weight.
12 :
Because they are so dumb, and stuck on the fact that you have to be stick skinny to do ANYthing in this image obsessive world.
13 :
Truthfully, i think that most people are making clothes for obese people. All of these stores are really helping out the people who aren't obese. Im skinny and its really hard to find proper fitting clothes because now, the small is like a medium. But yes, they are promoting eating disorders. They need to be more considerate. By the way no offense whatsoever of obese people.
14 :
Because the clothes were originally made for migets! No Offense!
15 :
Because they are made for little junior high kids, not adults. The sizes are "junior" sizes, not regular.
16 :
Most stores are targeting the “average” sized people, in this case, teens, so these stores want to target the petite people most stores ignored all these years. I’m 5’4” and I weight 100 pounds. AND NO, I DO NOT HAVE EATING DISORDERS. I do eat four times a day (smaller meals) but fortunately, I’m blessed with a high metabolism. I also run so I have to eat a lot of carb. Frankly speaking, I had the hardest time finding clothes that fitted me until a few years ago when stores started to carry smaller clothes. Before you jump into a conclusion that these stores are promoting eating disorders, think about the people who are just short and slim. Regarding prices -- I personally think that their prices are pretty good, but then I’m used to spend a lot more on alterations.

What do assistant managers at clothing stores (AE, The Buckle, Old Navy, etc...) really make these days??

Looking around at my options, let me know what kind of money is out there for experienced superivisors...

Old Navy supervisors make between $11-$16 per hour depending on level of experience, store location, cost of living, etc. I have inquired about a supervisor position at my store before, and a supervisor that used to work with me 2.5 years ago told me they were making $13.50/hr, and they had been with the company for a couple of years at the time. Supervisors at O.N. are hourly and cannot get overtime hours (unless approved). Managers are salary, but I'm not sure how much they make. Old Navy stores typically have 1 store manager, 1 assistant mngr, 2 supervisors (depends on the size of the store if the leadership team is larger than this).

garage sale? maybe you could try having like a fashion show with your friends and charge people like 5 bucks to get in? bake sale? you could see if your neighbors need babysitting and try it with a partner or a friend so you wont be alone with a kidD? lemonade stand? host a talent show ? with the same idea as a fashion show?
3 :
Mow lawns, get a paper route. Those are the only legal things I can think of for a 13 year old to make money.
4 :
You could throw news papers. I put up a lemonade stand when i was 13 LOL, you could give that a go, its pretty fun. Try a garage sale, or sell some of your old clothes. Maybe you could paint a few paintings, you said you liked art, and sell those. You could have a basketball camp for the kids in your neighbourhood, and put up other activities like face painting. Where I live, theres blueberry farms and you can pick blueberries. Last summer, I went and I made $150 in two days of picking. It was pretty harsh though. The weather was hot and you have to work really hard. You can do thi for two weekends and make enough money for your trip. I hope I helped =) GOOD LUCK!
