I think they do this for the specific reason that they only want model skinny types in their clothing. They are kind of discriminating while at the same time marketing the brand only to slim teens. I think they just dont want to make their clothes bigger because they dont want big kids in their clothes. They are targeting a different segment of the market the skinny kids.
2 :
It's because they're big companies... promoting eating disorders. They get more money from skinny kids who buy all their stuff.
3 :
because they want tiny anerexic people wearing their clothes to make them look better i mean i wear them but im like a medium idk who wear the xxs
4 :
well, because they are clothes for little teens. and obeese people need to lose weight to be little teenss....
5 :
its the style. kids today want to be skinny. so clothes shops make clothes to fit them. i am of average size. good weight for my size. and usually i'd fit into a small or medium tshirt..in these places i have to get an xlarge just to have a comfy fit. it only perpetuates the idea that girls have to be super skinny. most of the jeans i cant fit into, because they are for really tall skrawny girls with no butts. slim they say.
6 :
I have no idea. I have many times wondered the same thing. This is why we have some teen girls (and boys) starving themselves just to fit into the "cool clothes".
7 :
they think only skiny ppl should wear their clothes. they think that bigger ppl will disgrace their clothes. their models are So skiny so they think their customers should be too. its so discrimiating. im not small and skinny so i cant fit into the clothes i like from them. (plus theyre too expensive.) so stick up for the non-skinny ppl and dont buy their clothes. peace.

they have tiny clothes becuase they are targeting rich kids who have the money to go to the gym and look good. and for small people like that they dont have many places to go to get clothes because most other places dont have thier size. you may think these stores are discriminating against bigger people but small people feel all the other store discriminate against them.
9 :
Wow this makes me feel better!!My mom bought a pair of jeans from there a size 1 skinny and i couldnt figure out why there were tight.I guess there clothes runs juniors sizes.Cause i normally wear a size 1 at most stores but now i get it.
10 :
cause of the models that wear their clothes
11 :
they make them small so people will want to fit in the clothes, and not gain more weight, its an incentive to lose weight.
12 :
Because they are so dumb, and stuck on the fact that you have to be stick skinny to do ANYthing in this image obsessive world.
13 :
Truthfully, i think that most people are making clothes for obese people. All of these stores are really helping out the people who aren't obese. Im skinny and its really hard to find proper fitting clothes because now, the small is like a medium. But yes, they are promoting eating disorders. They need to be more considerate. By the way no offense whatsoever of obese people.
14 :
Because the clothes were originally made for migets! No Offense!
15 :
Because they are made for little junior high kids, not adults. The sizes are "junior" sizes, not regular.

Most stores are targeting the “average” sized people, in this case, teens, so these stores want to target the petite people most stores ignored all these years. I’m 5’4” and I weight 100 pounds. AND NO, I DO NOT HAVE EATING DISORDERS. I do eat four times a day (smaller meals) but fortunately, I’m blessed with a high metabolism. I also run so I have to eat a lot of carb. Frankly speaking, I had the hardest time finding clothes that fitted me until a few years ago when stores started to carry smaller clothes. Before you jump into a conclusion that these stores are promoting eating disorders, think about the people who are just short and slim. Regarding prices -- I personally think that their prices are pretty good, but then I’m used to spend a lot more on alterations.

Old Navy supervisors make between $11-$16 per hour depending on level of experience, store location, cost of living, etc. I have inquired about a supervisor position at my store before, and a supervisor that used to work with me 2.5 years ago told me they were making $13.50/hr, and they had been with the company for a couple of years at the time. Supervisors at O.N. are hourly and cannot get overtime hours (unless approved). Managers are salary, but I'm not sure how much they make. Old Navy stores typically have 1 store manager, 1 assistant mngr, 2 supervisors (depends on the size of the store if the leadership team is larger than this).

What kinds of things can a 13 year old girl do to make money?
well on august 3rd me, my mom, my sister, my aunt, and my cousin are all going to a big outlet mall about 3 hours from my house and we're going for the weekend.. well i have $175 right now.. but i have to buy most of my school clothes and i want to have good quality ones like abercrombie, ae, hollister, etc. and i want to have a lot.. i get $12 a week for allowance.. but i want to get to about $400 - $500 at least.. my dad sed w/ my allowance and the money i currently have saved that i'll end up w/ a little over 300$.. so what are some ways for me to make money? i like kids.. but my mom thinks im too young to be left alone w/ kids.. so she wont let me babysit.. i like fashion, makeup, clothes, designing stuff, art, basketball, gymnastics, swimming, being outside, the internet, and friends.. is there anything i can do to get about 100-200 extra dollars for my trip? im a hard worker and i'll do my best... garage sale? maybe you could try having like a fashion show with your friends and charge people like 5 bucks to get in? bake sale? you could see if your neighbors need babysitting and try it with a partner or a friend so you wont be alone with a kidD? lemonade stand? host a talent show ? with the same idea as a fashion show?

Mow lawns, get a paper route. Those are the only legal things I can think of for a 13 year old to make money.
4 :
You could throw news papers. I put up a lemonade stand when i was 13 LOL, you could give that a go, its pretty fun. Try a garage sale, or sell some of your old clothes. Maybe you could paint a few paintings, you said you liked art, and sell those. You could have a basketball camp for the kids in your neighbourhood, and put up other activities like face painting. Where I live, theres blueberry farms and you can pick blueberries. Last summer, I went and I made $150 in two days of picking. It was pretty harsh though. The weather was hot and you have to work really hard. You can do thi for two weekends and make enough money for your trip. I hope I helped =) GOOD LUCK!
