I have an account here in saudi arabia and they give me a visa card, they told me that I can witdraw anywhere?
My question is, if I used that card in making a withdrawal elsewhere aside here in Saudi Arabia, do they charge me in every withdrawals that i will do? I am keeping some of my money in that account and I planned to withdraw it once I'm back in the philippines. Will they charge me and can I really use it there? will the money be converted in Philippine Curency or will it will be in dollars?

you will be charged for cash withdrawals from the card ... but as a charge card you can use it worldwide....they may charge a conversion fee, check with the issuer of the card... phone number for questions is on the back of the card...
2 :
Yes, you can withdraw anywhere. And yes there will be charges. Please find helpful information regarding your visa card at this site: http://www.visa-asia.com/ap/sea/cardholders/tips/foreign_currency.shtml

This is how every banks go RICH. Every visas withdrawal will be charged a fees. How much or in %age depends on each individual banks. You would like the Saudi bank to issue (in US$) u a bank draft , and when u go back to phil, u can bank into ur phil bank account. once u deposit, t he phil bank will convert the US$ to peso when u draw ur money out. ....... convinced?? ..... how the bank get rich soooo easily..hehehe

Your "Visa" is an "ATM" card (IT IS NOT A CREDIT CARD) it can be used at any "ATM Machine" anywhere in the world that accepts the "Visa" logo. You can use it as a "Visa" credit card, but this only means that the store will proccess it like a credit card (you must have the money in the account to use it that way, (IT IS NOT A CREDIT CARD). When you come here to the Philippines and use an ATM, yes you will get the money out in Pisos. And yes there is a Charge for each time you withdraw. Not only from your "Home account Bank" but from the Bank that you use their "ATM". Remember that most ATM withdraws are only 5,000pisos each time, though some do now allow 10,000pisos. I was doing that on an American Account when I first moved here, and that was causeing me to lose alot of money, so I changed my account to PCI

All banks charge a stiff fee for cash withdrawals outside their country. Since you are in Saudi Arabia, you can withdraw cash anywhere in Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Oman and Qatar without a charge since they have the GCC Net agreement. However, for cash withdrawals outside the Philippines, you will be charged a transaction fee of US$1.5 each time. The amount will be debited from your bank account in Saudi Arabian Riyals depending upon the currency exchange rates of the SAR to PH Pisos that day, under London Bank Rates (LIBOR).

Is A Multi-Billion Dollar Arms Deal With Saudi Arabia A Good Idea? Common sense say no but its Bush right?

Is A Multi-Billion Dollar Arms Deal With Saudi Arabia A Good Idea? Common sense say no but its Bush right?
Does it even matter that most of the 911 hijackers are saudis? Why did we not go to war with them? OK. Lets give them a break since there is so much money there that could go into the pockets of the already superrich here, makes sense the way our system works. But this cowardly, evil administration could not let it end there, now we are going to supply the main country responsible for 911 with tactical weapons, hmm. I wonder when the rest of you are going to wake up and smell the greed, not only greed of money but more potent, power. These kinds of people, elites we will call them, will stop at nothing to destroy our way of life in order to make more money no matter who or how many die. Americans should be beyond feeling betrayed at this point and need to go into tar and feather mode. This administration and congress is an embarrassment, but this arms deal is much more than a bad idea, its an alliance with the enemy. Only the good die young, all the evil seems to live forever. Wow, some real great answer's here, will need more time to look them over. And just to clarify, Im neither Republican or Democrat, I am Independent who votes for the best person no matter what party they are in, the party means nothing, their record does! I can say I am a enemy of anything that is evil, corrupt, and wrong, and this includes Saudi Arabia. We should never allign our country with another, only trade of goods and services, never weapons or wars, and the United Nations is as corrupt if not more than our current government so it needs to go to, I would agree the US should break away from this world power and do zero business with anyone who is a member, others would follow right away, trust me. The only reason many countries are even in the UN is because of us, it is a dying entity with no purpose or direct goal, it needs to go now. As for the middle east, I would ignore it or destroy it, and I suggest Israel get their sh*t together because the cash and weapons train endsnow

Saudi citizens were involved in 9/11, not the government. Big difference there. Seeing as how our national debt is huge, yes a multi-billion dollar arms deal is a great idea. Clinton sold military technology to North Korea, and look where that got them. At least the Saudis have long been a US ally.
2 :
No it is not.. The saudi's have funded whabbiism, the most hateful & violent form of islam in Saudi schools. They teach it in their schools and export it throughout the middle east. For far too many administrations we have looked the other way while our so called friends attacked us from behind. The time is now to send them a clear cut message that we are not happy. A few items: 1. Osama, as we all know is a Suadi. In fact, to many opposing the royal family (about every Saudi that's not a millionare) he's a national hero. Fifteen of the 9/11 hijakers were Saudi nationals. Ditto for aprox 75% of the al Qaeda prisoners subsequently held at Guantanamo "the worst of the worst." 2. Back in 1996 when Sudan had Osama in custody, The Saudi government declined the offer to have him extradited back home. Reason? He was too popular, let him go. . 3. Saudi citizens blew up the National Guard facility in '95 and the Khobar barracks in '96. Two Saudis and one Egyptian hijacked a plane to Baghdad in 2000. Saudis were almost certainly behind the atttack on the USS Cole as well as hundreds of other terrorists activities prior to 9/11 from Kenya to Chechnya-- and yet, unlike say, an Argentinian or a Frenchman, Saudis did not have to bother to appear at a screening at an American embassy to get to the US. A system called 'Visa Express' took care of it for a fee. In other words, any Saudi travel agent stood in place of the American government. Baer tells us that under this system, Osama himself could have gotten through. 4.The Saudi government has not allowed the FBI or any US agency to question the relatives or associates of the 9/11 hijackers despite repeated requests. 5. The Royal Family is demented. Made up of five extended 'dysfunctional' families presently run by King Fahd's favorite wife, Jawara and her son Abd-al Aziz, or Azuzi ( 'deary' as Mommy calls him ) they spend more money than France on their 'army' --a praetorian palace guard. 6. There is no rule of law, it's a Mafia chieftain's paradise run by deary. Leaders of the world in public beheadings (Riyadh plaza is commonly known as Chop-Chop square) The Royals hedge their bets by supporting universities which are, in fact, ultra fundamentalist Anti American hate camps. 7. Further hedging are shows of piety put on by their muttawa, the public-decency police, which performs the useful function of beating women on the legs and arms if their robes are too short. In March 2002 it blocked the exit of a girl's school on fire because the girls weren't properly covered. Fourteen died. Not unusual in a country which Baer contends is 'the most sexually repressed on earth' Women are kept out of touch with men until the day they marry. A woman cannot drive, Only 5% of them work, if she needs to go anywhere a male relative must chauffer and chaperone her. In desperation, Saudi men have written their cell phones and taped it to cars they are trying to 'sell' in the hope some brazen Saudi girl will call them--even if they risk public stoning. These are the poor, of course as to the rich, it's THE Middle eastern joke that Saudis spend a staggering amount of its GDP on sex--in Europe's red light ditricts.

Actually... Afghanastan was the country with the most to directly do with 9/11. Many of the bad guys were of Saudi descent, but that was about the end of it. They had no KNOWN active role. I oppose selling them weapons though. Not a good idea. Bush is awesome at bad ideas though.
4 :
Its hard to believe anyone actually supports this sale of weapons. I mean, think about it. We are 'fighting them over there, so we dont have to over here', right? Does it seem like a good idea to deliver 20 billion $ of high tech weaponry to Saudi Arabia? Just the fact that we are 'counterbalancing' it by increasing aid to Isreal is a red flag. We are giving our ally more money to defend themselves with because we KNOW that these weapons can be used against them.
5 :
then you will have the idiots like the one above me( Pfo) that will cry " yeah but but but Bill Clinton " did this or that while completely writing the current idiot a blank check. Go ahead George do whatever you want, you ran as a republican therefore you can do no wrong!!

There are families who have so much money scattered all over this world that most people would not comprehend. These families have many members in government positions (Congress and Senate, local governments, top banks, need I go on) and they own companies that make chemicals, weapons, plastics, everything most people use daily or the components used to make those things. Anyways, these families go way back, and they will be making the money off of this arms deal. Ask yourself this. WHO is BUILDING these weapons and the components of these weapons? Whose bottom line is fattened by this deal, and all others like it? These people are like Judas was to Jesus, sell-outs. And for very little (in the scheme of things) I might add. This arms deal is bad, but what can a person do but conduct their own life in a truthful fashion. After all, each person is accountable for their own self and their own actions.

First of all, congratulations for using the term "common sense" and George Bush in the same sentence without sarcasm. A lot of people, particularly those in Congress, have forgotten about "Desert Storm" since it was soooooo long ago. If Iraq decides to attack them how will they be able to defend themselves? Or maybe this time it could be Iran! Are we supposed to send troops over there to defend them? I hardly think so! (Disclaimer: For the sake of some of the people that read this, I'm being sarcastic). Let's face it, there's plenty of money to be made selling weapons and Bush's pals can't wait for another invasion. With the looming financial threat that the Iraq situation my become less profitable the quick buck is to sell billions of dollars of weapons to a potential threat. That way, if (when) a future administration can concoct a reason to invade them they'll have to have even better and more expensive weapons to combat the threat. It's a win-win situation! Except for the average guy.

Should my family come to Saudi Arabia or not...!?

Should my family come to Saudi Arabia or not...!?
My dad is a Education minister for the Local council in England-(NW-U.K) and he has got offered a job as the...: Insular District Education Ruling Administrator of Riyadh. The job starts in Late September and the salary is ranging from 38,999 to 55,000 Monthly In Saudi Arabian money... But is that a good salary or a bad salary? My family is not taking this job request too seriously but my father is considering it because it seems Good. They even said that there are similar job requests like that in UAE and Qatar? How is Saudi Arabia really like, I am a muslim (Sunni) and It will be kinda comfortable for me but I heard its really Islamic and that there are no cinemas and all that... So what am i supposed to do? Just stay at my home? So basically there is not much recreational fun in Saudi Arabia for people to have a good time and enjoy.... So...I wake up...Go to school...Come home and do what then? And on weekends what do I do when there isn't school? A person called Nomad and Mintee gave me good answeres but please could you tell me more! And are you allowed to wear normal clothes like Top & Jeans or do you have to wear the white thawb regularly. I only wear thawbs while going to mosque to pray Friday Jumah? Will I make any friends? And finally... How is life there in Saudi Arabia...?

i've some priceless friends in Riyadh .. if u could make some good Saudi friends .. that's gona be awesome .. I think we're friendly as saudis
2 :
That is a very high monthly salary. If it's more than what he's making in England, then it's probably a good offer. Saudi Arabia can be a bit boring, but it's a nice place to live. You can wear regular western clothes. My husband is Saudi, and he rarely wears a thobe. I'm sure you'll make friends here from school. You can always go to Bahrain on the weekend if you want to watch a movie. Things to do....hang out with friends, go to internet cafes, go shopping, eat in restaurants, drive around, go to parks. not really too much that's exciting here.
3 :
saudi arabian money is called Riyal 55,000 riyal is 8968 pounds no u don't have to stay home? its safe over there .. you can go to malls, bowling, sports club, to Altahlia street its like the downtown, restaurants, parks, amusements, Al-thumama entertainment village, museum, zoo, cafe, and there are Ancient cities so you can visit if you are interested ...... etc. they don't close at 9 or 10 like Europe and others, they close at 12 and some later =D yes, you are allowed to wear jeans, shorts, and shirts. you will make friends easily inshallah like your neighbor your classmates. check these videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1VmwiNnfaU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ArilSrpFvk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNxaAm0tD0E
4 :
Please don't go there, you have no idea how frightening, depressing and backward over there in Saudi. There are NO human rights whatsoever. The locals are ALWAYS right, and the expatriates are ALWAYS wrong cos they're the weakest link. Why would you live in a place where women and men hugely repressed! What are you going to do there? Can't go to the beach and wear your swimmers, can't go to the cinema cos there isn't any, can't walk outside during nights and not being harassed by the guys as most them are perverts and molesters due to the prolonged boredom and sexual repression. Women almost don't exist in public, all in black covered from head to toe! The guys there are out of control, druggies and aggressive. Their favourite hobby is gathering late at night and performing crazy car shows that endanger other innocent people's lives. Everything is censored there, even the simplest things, can't buy a magazine without 75% of it being painted/covered with a black ink! The only time I'd go there is to merely perform Haj and be GLAD to escape the horror and constrains. Are you still considering going? I don't think so.
5 :
Yes, you all should come. Don' t worry, boys have many things to do here and you can wear anything as long as it is in compliance with Islam.
6 :
excellent salary. thanks for amending your original question.. that is double and triple the amount the average middle class saudi makes. as for you a young man, you might find it a bit boring at first.. You really need to be social and force yourself to get to know people real quick to make friends, then you will have a never ending group to do things with. You can wear western clothing here in this country as a male. tops and jeans are popular the world over.. You will find many of our stores/shops in the malls sell western brand clothing. And all our teens are up current on the latest fashion trends of the west.. WE dont have cinemas, but we do have DVDs and everyone downloads the latest movies anyways.. You can get together and watch TV at someones home, football(soccer) is popular social event for men. going sand dunning. (3 and 4 wheelers up the sand dunes). There are things to do, you just need to get out there and find them. AND dont limit friendships to just your countrymen, make friends with all nationalities, that way you will get a feel of many cultures.. it will be an adventure.. Majority of people know english here, so no problems
7 :
no they should not come, we want less foreigners in this country.
8 :
Me Teardrops: As we sit here in our prison (as you described) we at least have the right to thumb you down. Seriously, did you visit Saudi Arabia in 500BC or something?

Does Iraq, Syria, Turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia, or the United States have the most natural resources?

Does Iraq, Syria, Turkey, Israel, Saudi Arabia, or the United States have the most natural resources?
Also, which country (out of those 6) has the best natural resources, and makes the most money off of them?
Geography - 2 Answers

1 :
Saudi Arabia has the most natural resources in terms of Fossil Fuels. Saudi Arabia has the most oil reserves at 230 billion barrels. Iraq has 143 billion barrels of oil reserves. The United States only has 21 billion barrels of oil reserves but has a lot of coal. Syria has less tha 2.5 billion barrels of oils reserves which will last less than 10 years. Israel has very little oil reserves & Turkey has only 300 million barrels of oil reserves. The USA has the most coal reserves at 246.643 million tonnes. Iraq & Sryia & Israel have very little coal and Turkey has 278 million tonnes of coal reserves. Overall & including all other natural resources, the United States has the most natural resources of the countries mentioned above. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oil_reserves
2 :
The best definition of 'Natural Resources' would be from Princeton University which states 'raw materials supplied by the earth and its processes.' By country, Iraq has a vast volume of oil and natural gas providing 95% of its exported earnings. But that is about all. Most fresh water comes from desalination plants and very limited aquifers. Turkey, although mainly untouched, has a wealth of minerals. They include coal, iron ore, copper, chromium, antimony, mercury, gold, barite, borate, celestite (strontium), emery, feldspar, limestone, magnesite, marble, perlite and pumice. Turkey is without need of fresh water as their aquifers are plentiful and well managed. Israel's recourses are timber, potash, copper ore, natural gas, phosphate rock, magnesium bromide and petroleum. Small amounts of all their resources have so far been used. Water is natural but due to Israels small population, their supply will last. Not much here. Saudi Arabia has petroleum, natural gas, iron ore, gold, copper and petroleum. Water is from aquifers but mostly from desalination plants. The United States is the most diversified and abundant of natural resources but unfortunately those supplies are dwindling and being used at an astronomical rate. The US is using up their water supply and eventually will be importing it from Canada. Their oil supplies are being used up three times faster than production and supply and has to import from the Middle East and Canada the rest. The United States now is importing more of what was called domestic products than ever in it's history. The United States has the best of natural resources of the 6 but of a dramatic and rapidly dwindling supplies. Saudi Arabia makes the most money from the resource of its oil revenues than any of the countries you have mentioned. Iraq, conversely, is forced to spend a major portion of its oil revenues to the United States and Britain among other countries for the reparations of the 2003 Iraq War or Operation Iraqi Freedom. I hope this helps you. Regards, Warren
