Medical technologists (also clinical or medical laboratory scientists) in the US can make anywhere from $40K to $70K annually. Salaries vary by region, experience, and position (laboratory managers and directors may make $80K+). To work in the US you'll need to be ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) certified. You'll also need to verify that your degree/program is the equivalent of a BS degree in the US as you'll need a bachelors degree to sit for the ASCP exam. They'll also want to verify that the coursework you've completed covers the prerequisites. Check with ASCP for further details (see below). Check with CLMLS for information on qualifications in Canada.

Would you accept money from The Saudi Royal Family?

Would you accept money from The Saudi Royal Family?
The Saudi Royal Family has put at least $1.4 billion into the hands of the Bush family and its friends. Don't be too surprised. In the days right after 9/11, all commercial flights in US air space including those for Congressmen and the FBI, the private jets of billionaires, and transportation for donated organs were shut down. There was one exception... The White House arranged for dozens of still unnamed Saudi Arabians living in the US - including members of the House of Saud and the Bin Laden family - to be flown out of the country in style. The FBI didn't think it was necessary to get a passenger list...but if you show up at a peace rally, they'll be sure to get your face on video and add your name to their database if you're arrested at one. The US news media didn't think this post 9/11 "mercy" flight for Bush's personal friends was worth investigating. Saudi Arabia Prime Source of Terror Funds, U.S. Says Saudi Arabia remains the world's leading source of funds for al-Qaida and other extremist groups, according to the Bush administration's top financial counter-terrorism official. Stuart Levey, a Treasury undersecretary, told the Senate Finance Committee on Tuesday that the Saudi government has not taken sufficient steps to stem the flow of money to terrorist organizations or to bar wealthy citizens from funding extremism through charitable contributions. "Saudi Arabia today remains the location where more money is going to terrorism, to Sunni terror groups and to the Taliban than any other place in the world," Level told the committee. Does any of this make sense to you ? http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/355.html I already know our country has a long history with Saudi Arabia, still the fact is there the Prime Source of Terror Funds, does not that give you any red flags, saying one day these guys probably can't be trusted, if we are worrying about terrorist then why be close to a country, that terrorist has no problem going to George S.. no i only examined more information for 9'11, seeing if explosives plan a role into it, and if so who was the master mind behind it. but really why was bin laden brother in Ny that day. i would like to examine obama but what does he have to do with 9'11 No i am not bias I fully understand how important Saudi Arabia is to US give me secession: i fully agree with you

How much more money does a married military person make while overseas than a single one?

How much more money does a married military person make while overseas than a single one?
I know that married men/women make more money than singles because they get paid for something I think is called spousal separation? Not sure. I guess to rephrase the question... how much more money do military men and women get if they are married? My fiance is in the Air National Guard and is being deployed to Saudi Arabia soon. We have been together for a little over six years and we are thinking about going ahead and getting married before he leaves (in November). Our date to get married if he we don't get married before he leaves is August 8th of 2009. No kids.. We live in WV. He's been in the guard for about seven years. Thanks in advance! He's a staff sergeant. He said it woujld be $700 to $800 more. About $300 for separation, then more for BAH. It just seems like a lot more when I thought it would only be like $200 or $250 based on what I've heard others say. He will be deployed for approximately seven months.

I want to know the answer to this too. My fiance will be deployed through the Ohio Army National Guard next June and we are considering getting married before he leaves.
2 :
The ONLY difference is that married members (kids or no kids) receive family separation pay after 30 days of separation. It is $250 a month. That's it. Single and married members are eligible for Hazard Fire and SAVE pay depedning on the area they are deployed to. . If the member is receiving BAH before deploying, they will continue to receive it after leaving.
3 :
Rank is factored into this also. If you know his rank try military.com I think there is a pay rate chart there.
4 :
Not sure what the pay would be but a note for you... Definately get married prior to him shipping and leave enough time for him to get your paperwork processed so you can get health care & all that good stuff. Otherwise you're just a fiance and the military considers him "single" and won't tell you anything.
5 :
The military is not like welfare where you get paid more for each dependant you have. HE will get paid more for his housing allowance for when he is activate duty only. When he come back home it will go back to the prorated amount he will earn while drilling. His BAH with dependent amount isn't enought to go buy a new house or a Mercedes or anything so don't get too excited. It is a few hundred dollars more than it would be if he stayed single. Then he will get family separation allowance if he is deployed to an eligible area AND he is gone to that location long enough to qualify for it in the first place. If he has been in the Guard for 7 years he should be able to tell you exactly what pays and allowances he is eligible for. If he can't I would wonder what he has learned in 7 years.
6 :
Since he is being activated to full Active Duty status, he will get family seperation pay, BAS, BAH, and any tax free entitlements he MAY be eligible for, depending on where he is stationed. Family Sep pay is about 250, BAS is about 270, and BAH is dependent on where you live. Each is tax free. BAH: If you live in Charleston for example and he is an E-5, then with dependents he gets about 822, and without he gets about 724. Here is the link to BAH rates from the Pentagons website: http://perdiem.hqda.pentagon.mil/perdiem/bah.html
7 :
don't be an idiot and get married just for the money. Family Sep is $250/month, starting on Day 31. and BAH will depend on his home of record and paygrade..and BOTH go away at the end of the deployment. .
8 :
There is more money if you deploy married than single, but it is because the income is shared with dependents i.e. (wife, kids). Almost always the single soldier with minimum bills will come back with more money in his pocket. If you get married the soldier will receive Family Separation Allowance Type II which is 250 dollars a month. He will also receive BAH with dependents which is about 200 -400 more depending on what state and city your in. I would've gotten over 800 dollars more if I were married when I was deployed to Iraq as a E-4, but money isn't everything :)
