Why are we excited about the new "Giant Saudi field"?

Why are we excited about the new "Giant Saudi field"?
Is there a reason we want to send our money to Saudi Arabia instead of our own oil companies? I just don't get why Americans are so sold on sending money to the middle east for their oil when we could be sending money to our own oil companies that employ Americans and pay royalties to Americans instead of foreign Arabs. Makes no sense. Look at this "exciting article" -> http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/080629/saudi_giant_oil_field.html They call Khurais, Saudi Arabia's last "undeveloped giant oil fields." It holds and estimated 27 billion barrels of oil. While our own ANWR holds an estimated 9 billion barrels of oil. That's one third as large and the liberals in congress play this down as being small and of little or no help. Someone is lying here and it looks like it is for the sole purpose to send our money to the middle east instead of investing in our own country.

You'll never make it into politics since you can tell it like it is. Why is this country so naive?

because we owe everybody---that's why the Chinese and Indish got our jobs from outsourcing(and that's why companies get tax breaks for outsourcing)!! We also do not have the money to pay for the oil--the dollar is worthless at this time--so, we send the money to Saudi Arabia to get their oil.....
